Cartoon: Idol Oath

Cartoon of two men in choir robes. One holds a Bible and says, “As a new choir member, you must take an oath that you will never appear on ‘American Idol.’”

When I drew this, I thought about the controversy it could cause in some choirs if a member was suddenly a celebrity. Some choirs call for decorum. Others would find a way to capitalize on the sudden status. I just liked the thought of a true, unknown wallflower in a choir robe suddenly becoming a superstar.
